++1, with a local server. IMHO, the only way to go. No delays, no alarm
issues. My server is dedicated to running the SC software and storage of
music files only, has an ISP connection and sleeps full time, until it's
called on to play music or sound an alarm, then it takes five or ten
seconds to respond and that's the only delay.
