OK I am resigned to the fact that the SBT - perhaps being a simple purpose built computer in a sense - is likely to be better than a netbook, and not the other way round as I first thought.
Just because a netbook runs on a battery and is isolated from the cruddy mains - doesn't exclude it from other switch noises from within the case.
