Dunno. It could be what you've described above. Either he couldn't set
the external drive plugged into his PC to work with the Touch, or
couldn't get the Touch to work with the external drive that was plugged
in straight into Touch. Whichever it is, he ended up throwing his hands
up in exasperation and returned the thing. Couldn't resolve it in a
satisfactory manner, despite the fact that he wanted it to work so
badly. And yes, he was trying to work it out with Logitech sales
force.

Is that Logitech's problem? I think it is. The product must be designed
in such a way that a non-technical person can use it. Otherwise, it's a
narrow  niche product, meaning no economies of scale can enter.
