The problem could be anywhere from your system, the surroundings, the recordings or your expectations. Have you heard some of the bad sounding CDs sound good on other *comparable* systems. As pr mnyb they may sound ok on a car stereo, but thats usually too different a presentation to be useful for evaluating. If you have - why do you suppose it sounded better? Be as specific as you can.
