Here's the sentence:

"The replacement of the S/PDIF interface by USB as the de facto standard
for transmitting digital audio has been surprisingly rapid."

I am referring to all parts of the sentence. For example, are
professional recording studios replacing S/PDIF with USB? This nonsense
is just another example of how these clowns construct their own reality.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: this fascination with USB is
ONLY because audiophiles want to use their computers to play music. And
the standard USB interface is not very good at transmitting digital
audio. There is nothing wrong S/PDIF interface when it is used to
transmit digital audio. But most computers do not have S/PDIF outputs
only USB so there is a need for an improved USB interface. But this has
nothing to do with S/PDIF and USB is not, nor will it ever be "the de
facto standard".

I stand behind my words and challenge anyone to prove that asynchronous
USB "sounds better" than S/PDIF. By that I mean by actually listening to
them and making a direct comparison.
