A few comments. Over priced cables and wires are must definitively NOT on the fringes of the high end audio hobby. They are smack dab in the middle and are quite likely the biggest money making part of the business for all concerned parties, including the magazines and retailers. What do you mean by PLL? "I thought that the mysteries of barely measurable jitter and our ability to hear it were generally accepted" - only if one believes the clowns who write for the high end audio press, I do not know of anyone who can hear "barely measurable jitter", that is other the clowns previously mentioned. "There is no rational argument or evidence of any kind that S/PDIF (in a source-outboard DAC set up) will rival the sound quality of the same DAC in a single box unit." So I take to mean that the Transporter is the best sounding device ever made for the playback of digital audio files, otherwise please explain further because I'm not getting your point. Also does the same logic apply to the great and powerful asynchronous USB? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ralphpnj's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10827 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97489 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
