The weird thing with kde and the overlay in aufs is, that it runns quite well for a moment and then suddenly pdflush becomes busy.
For example, i started fluxbox directly via startx and everything was fine for about 5 minutes. Then i startet kate from kde4 (which also starts some other kde4 programs) and pdflush becomes busy again. > Just to make sure, please try "dmesg | grep aufs". The issue is still there with ext3 but ext2 works fine.
