The RAA reported 9 Accidents/Incidents on P16 of their Dec/Jan Magazine.

These included Aircraft type, Engine type (not all but where relevant), Aircraft or Engine ttis, Conditions, Pilot Experience tt and hrs on type (not all but where relevant), and approx 2 paragraphs on the nature & background of the event.

If the RAA can do it why can't the GFA?

I haven't signed any release in my RAA membership.

A cynic might suspect that it is too easy to hide behind the "someone might sue us" excuse for inaction on this.

As one who made a submission to the last Board Meeting on this matter and also offered to prepare drafts for the Magazine .... for the Ops guys to add their observations and recommendations on each Event and to also edit in any way that they see fit ........... I now also offer to pass those drafts past my Solicitor, and pay for that, for the 1st publication to see if there really is a legal issue that might stop publication.

It needs to be clearly understood that I don't think specific details are needed to give the members good data on our accidents and incidents. I don't even think the precise aircraft type is needed unless there is a specific failure that is a cause.

Hope this helps. Who is game to hold their breath?

Accident reports do make make findings against anyone. They report facts
- that is all they do. Go and read the report on the fatal accident
earlier this year near Dalby on DDSC's web site for an example.

Safety is not about blame!
