May I ask what you base this on? Have you ever studied at Uni? You're right of course. Unfortunately it all takes time. The affects of lack of Union membership are felt in the following years, and this delay makes it hard to convince people to sign up. I'm not talking about minority interests. My uni has lost a range of _services_ such as subsadised books for students, printing facilities and the book store itself. I dont actually care about the Union, just the facilities it provides. Would be perfectly happy with a facilities fee or something like that. Unfortunately, when it comes to the allocation of money, politics is always involved.
