Hi,
From memory the SMS phone number is Country Code + Area Code (drop
the 0) then the phone number e.g. 61419797508 - The supporting servers are
overseas so you have to provide them with your full international number.
Those with iPhones you can't move strait from the SMS position to Google
Earth applications which is surprising given the interactive nature of other
iPhone applications.
I prefer the email account delivery, from the email you can open Google Map
and see the exactly position of the SPOT unit - this could be very useful
for crews planning a retrieve.
I expect I will have a SPOT Mk 2 for evaluation this week, I will let you
know.

There's still some uncertainty about the way to enter mobile phone
numbers. I had two replies from Spot on the same day.
#1.
Thank you for your email. As per your inquiry, please follow the
format below to enter SMS numbers on your SPOT account:
Eg: +08002564564
#2.
In regard to SMS format you need to only enter the destination SMS as
01161Ø..... then add the number, please dropt the Ø.
Should you have additional questions, please do contact our Customer
Service team directly at 1-866-OK1-SPOT (651-7768) or via reply to the
e-mail address above.
Hopefully one of these works!
Another query on the SPOT 2 is, do you have to flick back the little
plastic covers over the SOS or Help buttons to operate them, or does
pressing the plastic covers work OK?
