I tried to make sense of this thread and it just hurt my head. Not the fault of this thread, more the fault of the underlying confusion it is trying to unscramble...
I thought- well, what the heck, I imagine I qualify for a Glider Pilot License, why don't I just apply for one and see what happens. One more notch in the pistol case, eh - maybe useful in the future, maybe not. So I searched the CASA site for application forms, which lead me to this page, called "CASA Flight Crew Licensing Forms": http://www.casa.gov.au/scripts/formdisplay.asp?session=1001&pc=PC_91489&formtopic=fcl&formnoin=&public=YES&Show+forms=Show+forms On that page there is a link called "Form 61-1GP - Glider Pilot Application". Clicking on the link gets you an error message ... "The requested page does not exist. Please check the URL." ** argh ** (Yes, I've emailed them to ask them to fix it - but its not a great start, is it? Then again, I doubt it'll be the only hiccup in the move to Part 61 on 1st September...)
