Hi all,

I'd like to give my thoughts on what's happening at moment on this list:

First I want to say that I'm very disappointed with how the things are turning here. OOoAuthors is such a great place to work on, and I really want it to continue so. Working on OOoAuthors is very easy and great. Here's a quote to illustrate what I mean: Daniel said (Tue, 29 Nov 2005 23:01:41 +0000): "But the beauty of open source is that ultimately people can just use whatever they prefer. If people find it easier to work here for whatever reason, I won't tell them that they must use something else instead."

1) About moving the list:
I agree completely.
I've experimented slow down a lot of time, some mails I sent took several days to appear on the list. Often I didn't receive mails for a long while, then they came all together some days after. Add to this, I think it isn't a non-sense to have the list on the same server as our web site.

2) About the printing copies of the guides:

I agree. Here's what I wrote in a previous mail (Fri, 18 Nov 2005 06:07:14 +0100): "I really like the fact of having printed copies, it's why I started (unfortunatly didn't had time to do much until now) the French
translation of the OOoAuthors docs.
I'd like to give some printed copies to my family and friends who start with OOo after giving them a lot of advertisment about OOo. I think that a lot of people would prefer to have the instructions written on the paper rather than on a screen."

This week at work a person who work with me asked about OOo documentation, and he said that he prefer printed doc as the online help or a FAQ. I think there is really a need of a printed documentation, and I'm so happy to see it happen.

3) About the money (when we'll get some):

I trust Jean too. She always did a good job for the good of OOoAuthors.
Jean, I support you completely.
Some great ideas were already brought here, and I'm sure we'll find a way to make everyone happy.
Here are the ones I read and I like the most:
           1) Paying for the ISBN service cost.
           2) Promoting the guides
           3) Giving to schools and to people running booths at shows.

Thanks for listening, I was quite long, but I so wanted to say all what was on my heart.
Kind regards,

Agnes
