Thanks.
I wanted to do the capture with Gimp, but I only have it on Linux and
needed to do a Win capture to make sure it matches the others in the
chapter.

Where do I upload the graphic?

Hi Jean,

I've been doing some work on the Master Documents chapter. I'm
having
trouble finding the instructions on the oooauthors site for updating
a
screen capture. Can you point me to the instructions?

Thanks,

Scott
Read Chapter 8 in WG and also read the tutorials for your application.

You should use enough resolution or otherwise the substitution might have lower quality. I thought my 32- bit BMP shots appeared better than

the 24- bit PNGs, but again, that was my perception.

I use SnagIt 7-- probably the industry standard for screen captures.
If do not have any software, try a free evaluation of SnagIt 8 (assuming you're using XP). Also you can use the open- source GIMP for graphics too, but you don't need it.

Well Jean can provide better info than me, but she's still on vacation for a few days. From the top of my head, you could (1) mention to the maintainer what figure(s) needs updating, (2) email it or upload it to the Feedback folder as a file, or (3) embed it yourself following the information in the OOo docs and your software. I chose the first option for the present, especially for any Linux screen captures because my other system with Linux is down and I'm using a ThinkPad without Linux. SnagIt is really convenient to use, so I use it for all XP shots. Try the free 30-day download.
