Hi 

 Just installed avifile-0.7.7-20020523 and generated a total crash
 with one avi file. The system freezes nothing goes and it does not
 even generate a core dump. So I can not provide you with a backtrace.
 The only thing I see seems to be the very first frame and that's it.

 Might have something to do with the NVidia driver (v2960).

 avibench works just fine and gives me the following info about
 the avi file (if that helps)
