Yes, but see, the problem is not really the math going on that's
eating the power.
It's the draw...
Adding basic/native F10 routines is indeed on our huge todo list.
They will be gradually added to the engine in the future. We try
implement features one at a time :)

Fair enough. Might something to consider for a future release since
some simple 3D scenes don't require dynamic z-sorting or culling (e.g.
tiltviewer type interfaces).
