If you don't need too many features of the engine use Away3DLite. The rest of your questions are too general,I mean if your scene needs to have a lot of geometry you can use BSP (remember that you have to create a completely closed model for this so that this is not too useful for open scenes).Though you can setup a relatively lite scene without it if you optimize your stuff well.But really it depends on your game detailed specs .
