Thanks Hermano, That record really is a mess. On the first line of the record, the priest starts to list the mother as Antonia de Sousa, but he corrects himself. At the end of line one, he starts to write 'Do' and continues 'mingas' on line two.
Lines two and three are Domingas' parents. (I cannot make out the very last part of her father's name though). I agree, it definitely says that João de Sousa is her father and is married. (So Domingas was fooling around with a married man). Would anyone have any idea how to continue researching João de Sousa if he was married to another woman? That name is pretty common and without the listing of João's legitimate wife, this particular line would be hard to continue researching. ________________________________ From: Altino Demelo <[email protected]> To: "[email protected]" <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, December 1, 2012 4:26:29 PM Subject: [AZORES-Genealogy] Help with a record Hi everyone, I have a record for an ancestor named Sabina. At the time of her birth, her father isn't listed only her mother Domingas is listed (her father is later named in Sabina's , marriage record). What i would like to know is if anyone can make out what the word/name is listed directly after Domingas' father's first surname/middle name. He is listed as Antonio de Sousa _______. Can anyone help make that last name out? Altino -- To unsubscribe from this group, send email to [email protected]. Follow the confirmation directions when they arrive.
