Cheri
I am not familiar with the type of document that they may have neede but the
June 1st is the date of a document "alvara matrimonial", actualy google is
giving ti a good shot because I would have translated as a "warrant of intent
to marry"
That document was drawn up by Cesar da Silva the Secretary of the Eclesiastic
Judge and signed by the " Muito Reverendo Ouvidor" Eclesiastic Judge Jose Leal
Furtado. I can only gues that they may have needed such a document because her
previous husband had died in Brasil. I may have missed it but I saw no mention
of bans.

The part at the bottom does not translate too well verbatim but here is my
version:
The betrothed were received by me and united as man and wife following all the
accepted rites of the Holy Catholic Apostolic Roman Mother Church with the
blessing of the ring. The witnesses were....
Kind of round about, but I hope it helps

Yes, I saw that they are not related and their ages. And the bride is a widow.
What I'm interested is that 2nd date on page 2. It says June 1st and Google
translator is giving me "charter marriage." I don't know if this is the
correct translation or not, and if it is, what that means.

There's also some extra info after the bride's parents, near the bottom of the
page. I've never encountered that either.
Thanks!
