John, I think you might have the answers I need. Dan sent me the marriage record in Faial de Terra for Miguel do Monte who married Thereza Furtado. Is this the person who is the father of Joze Furtado who married Antonia Pimentel in Achada 20 may 1791? Is this the Miguel do Monte who married 3 times? If so, I've got something linked up incorrectly. I have that Miguel do Monte as the son of Miguel do Monte Sr. (we'll call him Sr. just to keep this straight) and Maria Furtada. But I have Miguel Sr's first wife as Maria Furtada and 2nd wife as Maria da Costa. Have I somehow thrown in an extra Miguel do Monte? I don't believe this Miguel do Monte could have been the father of Joze Furtado as he was born in 1767, Achada. Miguel Sr. should have been dead by then.
I think what I've done is misread the notes given to me and I've split the marriages between two Miguel do Monte's. Hope you can help me sort this out.
