But they will not accept a "Messiah" coming after Jesus. Thence Muhammed might lay claim to prophet hood, but HE explicitly states that He and Jesus are both of the same rank.
 
"Prophet" does not mean the same thing to most conservatively oriented Christians that it does to Muslims. Jesus was not a "Prophet" at all by Christian measure. He was the Son of God, the WAY the TRUTH and the LIFE. Muhammed's claim to equality with Christ is most firmly rejected.
