That's right. In Buddhism there is no permanent self that could be
called a 'soul'. What we have instead is an aggregate of 'graspings'
which form our identity. These would include things like our body, our
reason, our imagination, our memory, our body and our emotions. Each
is subject to change but because not everything changes at once they
give us an illusion of continuity. Some of those graspings might cling
together from one life to the other hence creating an illusion of
transmigration.
