Why don't you try reading the book - and judging for yourself whether this
so-called retraction can be taken at face value. Feyerabend was known for
messing around with his audience.
The statement 'anything goes' is item # 1 in the "Analytical Index Being a
Sketch of the Main Argument" in "Against Method."
His statements about magic etc. make it quite clear that his denials can't
be taken at face value - and most philosophers who are critical of him don't
take it seriously.
However, I must admit I'm getting tired of discussing posts which show no
sign of familiarity with even some of the basic texts on this subject.
