The name doesn't have to be unique but the external ID must be. When you import or update reporters from a file or import raw data or array design the external ID is used for matching. > > Another question is deleting reporters. In this case it is used by a feature on an array design (it's complaining about `base2/Feaures`). Have you also deleted the array designs from the Trachcan and not just marked them as removed? /Nicklas > > Version BASE 2.2.1 (build #0; schema #29) > Web server Apache Tomcat/6.0.9 > Database Dialect org.hibernate.dialect.MySQLInnoDBDialect > JDBC Driver com.mysql.jdbc.Driver (version 5.0) > Java runtime Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition > (1.5.0_11-b03), Sun Microsystems Inc. <http://java.sun.com/> > Operating system Linux i386 2.6.18-1.2798.fc6 > Memory Total: 26.4 MB > Free: 6.10 MB > Max: 63.6 MB > Browser Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1) > Error message Cannot delete or update a parent row: a foreign key > constraint fails (`base2/Features`, CONSTRAINT `FKF287485DEAB01E4E` > FOREIGN KEY (`reporter_id`) REFERENCES `Reporters` (`id`)) > Stack trace > > ...at BasicBatcher.flushDelete(BasicBatcher.java:477) > ...at BasicBatcher.flush(BasicBatcher.java:221) > ...at AbstractBatcher.close(AbstractBatcher.java:117) > ...at > org.apache.jsp.views.reporters.index_jsp._jspService(index_jsp.java:221) > ...at org.apache.jasper.runtime.HttpJspBase.service(HttpJspBase.java:98) > ...at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:803) > ...at > org.apache.jasper.servlet.JspServletWrapper.service(JspServletWrapper.java:384) > ...at > org.apache.jasper.servlet.JspServlet.serviceJspFile(JspServlet.java:320) > > > > > Where can I think my reporter is linked to?.
