however, someone might offer to donate a small commandline program (using the
API) which would do this job for you.  I guess it would be quite simple to
write (but I haven't used ReporterBatchers yet so it won't be me!)

This is something of interest here too.  What would the general workflow be?
Would it be like this?

1) upload raw data, samples, experiment info as usual to BASE
2) perform any reporter or assay merging required to match processed data's
   "shape" using existing plugins
3) add processed data using new plugin (would this create an ExtraValue?)
