The name doesn't have to be unique but the external ID must be. When you
import or update reporters from a file or import raw data or array
design the external ID is used for matching.

This is because the reporter is used in some other place. In this case
it is used by a feature on an array design (it's complaining about
`base2/Feaures`). Have you also deleted the array designs from the
Trachcan and not just marked them as removed?
Thanks I found the link and now I can remove reporters. My problem now is that I have 30000 reproters to delete and the system allows me to delete a max of 99 each time, the max number reporters displayed per page, but my selection is higher. Is there a way to delete all my selection in one go?
Another question is how to define a new Raw Data file type. I am managing costume macros which I would lie to introduce in BASE but I sould define myself the columns that the file containing raw data have. I have been looking under Administrative types (software, feature extration, etc) but althou I can dfine new types I cannot give any characteristics. Is there a way to do this?
One more question is whether there is a way to store in BASE processed data, i.e., data that has been processed (eg. normalized and differential _expression_ computed) outside BASE. Is there a way to upload this processed information back to BASE?
Finally I would like to learn about the Analysis possibilities within BASE2. Is there any documentation on this?
