What? A step backwards, this prop to vote NO on 8, is an inclusive vs.
exclusive.
How people marry and whom they marry & what ceremony they choose, wether it be
a pagan, christian, muslim, ceremony.... Has nothing to do with your happiness.

Regarding having family, there are many ways, to name a few: adoption,
surrogate, in vitro, sperm banks.

And IF we opt as a society to vote against gay rights, we might as well add
that ugly, dumb, people who wear glasses, watch sci fi, gross, shy people,
medical condition prople and a bunch more I rather not state...people should
not have the right to marriage/ be recognize to rights of married people /
recognized by state.
Heck I guess you guys might as well start the hunt as Hitler did... What a
shame.

The problem I see is that Prop 8 will also threaten hetero-marriages, should it
pass.

The people who spearheaded the proposition use the argument that marriage is
for the purpose of uniting a man and a woman for the purpose of creating a
family. If it passes, the state will have to nullify all those marriages that
were entered into legally during the summer and fall of this year – because you
can’t simultaneously recognize and not recognize something. Once you start to
do that, what’s to then stop the state from nullifying the marriages of those
who actively choose not to have children. Maybe, because it seems to be the
Christian right spending all the money on this campaign, they’ll say that a Jew
and a Christian should not be allowed to be married. Heck, they may even want
to go back to making it illegal for blacks and whites to marry each other.

Once one group’s civil rights are constitutionally denied, what’s to stop other
group’s rights – including your own - from being denied. Prop 8 is not a step
forward, but 20 steps back.

PS, a small correction to the minutes: It’s Legion of Rassilon, not Rasselon –
important enough if you try to look us up on the web (legionofrassilon.org)

Everyone should be encouraged to donate and work for any candidate or
proposition they want to support. My preference is for protecting traditional
marriage and our freedom of speech to be able to talk about traditional
marriage and traditional family units. Vote Yes on Prop 8.
