I've been through most of them, and I really like "Learning Perl". It's got a lot of examples and is pretty easy (sometimes fun) to read. If you're not sure how much you're going to use Perl, get that one. If you're a coder and need the definitive, get "Programming Perl", which is indeed the "bible" of perl. Or, if you don't like books laying around, get the Perl CD Bookshelf: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0596006225/sr=8-1/qid=1149651261/ref=pd_bbs _1/002-0793282-5094420?%5Fencoding=UTF8 ... which has the 5 major O'Reilly perl books on CD (formatted in HTML, which can be copied to the local machine) and has an index into all 5.
