Funny you mention it right now when I gave Ruby a first try yesterday and was surprised it wasn't one of the languages BBEdit "understands" - I also didn't find it in the language menu when I tried to add .rb files to to list of known file types.

While I'm at it - I just installed Python 2.4.3 but BBEdit still calls v2.3 when I use "Run" from the menu, though "which python" in my bash shell finds the right one (and Bash is selected in the BBEdit prefs). Doesn't BBEdit use PATH to determine the one to use, i.e. the one in "/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/Current/bin" instead of
"/usr/bin/"?

Best and thanks for any insight, Achim.

seems as though ever since I updated to the latest version I no longer have Ruby as a language in BBEdit's preferences. I reinstalled the Ruby language module (Ruby is still not native???) and when I restart I still can't see any Ruby syntax highlighting when I open a file.

what gives?
