Betsy, I know what you mean and Veritas is not the only one that does this. This may seem kind of odd suggestion - but it has worked for me in the past when I did not want to attempt to play hard ball with the vendor. (threaten to replace their product or such).
Buy a complete new license with support. Yea sounds wasteful - but a lot of times it comes out way cheaper (especially if you have been out of support for some years). Have you quoted out what it would cost to purchase all new licenses? Just an suggestion - will depend on what type of prices you are getting for new licenses and support.
