Fedora 7 offers the possibility of controlling your interface with 
NetworkManager, which I find much 
easier to use that ifup/ifdown, etc. The current version does require using 
dynamic IP's, not a 
static value. Is that possible for you?

Now that your wireless interface is up, please send a new copy of 'dmesg | grep 
bcm'.
