Not sure how it works on BESX but yes, if you type in Smith, J into the To: box there is an option to lookup, that checks your GAL.

I thought that is what I needed to do what to get the GAL on everyone's BlackBerry. But that isn't needed? Let me see if I understand; the user types in a name, John Smith, that is in the Global Address List, but not in his personal contacts, it performs an immediate lookup on the GAL and resolve the address. Put the entire GAL on everyone's BlackBerry? I don't believe that is possible. BB's use Lookup command to search the GAL.
