Okay thanks. I assume this is a full blown monitoring system that must
be purchased? Correct?

I use 3-rd party tool to do that:

Importance: High

Hung threads on BESDR1 server:

Yes, I understand. It's just that this is a 4.1 box and will be going
away in the near future. Not sure if it makes sense to put BES
monitoring in place for a temporary solution. Do I need a separate box
to have BES monitoring installed. Is there much overhead? thanks

BES Monitoring service can be configured to send an alert if there
aren't any messages sent or received over a period of time, amongst many
other items.

Yes, I know realize that. I thought there was a way to tell from BES. I
have a meeting with my monitoring team to discuss. It would be helpful
if the BES send some error but as all BES services were running and
server was pingable, I got no indication. This event was not picked up
by our monitoring group so I am investigating. I just wish there was a
way to be more pro-active from the BES side. thanks

If it really was VMware that hung, shouldn't you be monitoring for
VMware SNMP traps, not BES SNMP traps?

I already provided them a list of traps to capture, but we still can't
seem to capture this event.

Guys,

We had a 4.1.6 box that was down for 12 hrs yesterday as the VMware
session was hung. What is the best way to monitor for this? We use NETIQ
agents which report into EMS. The monitoring group is asking me if we
can do a port check for the Blackberry app? Can someone advise on this?
Thanks
