First of all, updating using install'qtide' will work for both cases, it is 
smart enough. It does not require an uninstall for updating using the 
installer, it will just overwrite.

I suggest a clean install because you reported there were problems, I had no 
problem re-install on the same folder.

It all depends on individual personal preference.
