It's still not clear to me whether I'm losing much by not downloading the new installer. (It's very tedious to swap virus-checkers!)

- Is my JVERSION (history below) up to date?

- If users HAVE run the jqt installer (not my case), do they still need to run install 'qtide' in jconsole ?

- If users have NOT run the jqt installer (my case), will running install 'qtide' in jconsole continue to work?

- Are there other differences we need to be aware of?

Thanks,

Mike

The plugins folder is moved to become a sibling folder of bin.
This is the same as that in windows version of qtcreator.

Jqt.cmd also sets qt_plugin_path. I thought plugins were required for some
rendering in WebKit. Is the qt plugins folder dispensable?

Also, the OSX version still requires a script (though the Linux version does
not).

previous update method continue working. The installer is fool proof.
Update either with the previous method or installing the updated installer
again.

The avast may issue false alarm because the installer was built on a
debian, but you should double check with other anti-virus programs.

So does this supersede the previous methods for downloading J701 with qt?

Here's my current JQT version:
    JVERSION

Engine: j701/2011-01-10/11:25

Library: 8.01.016

Qt IDE: 1.0.22/4.8.5

Platform: Win 64

Installer: j801 beta install

InstallPath: c:/d/j801

Does this need updating?
Anyway, I did try to download the file jqt_1.0.22_w64.exe but my trusty
AVAST virus checker thinks it's a virus .
Will
   install'qtide'
still do the necessary updates if and when I need them?

Thanks,

Mike

There are now 2 installer for windows for 1.0.22 at webpage,

http://www.jsoftware.com/download/jqt/

jqt_1.0.22_w32.exe
jqt_1.0.22_w64.exe

It include j801, jqt addon and qt runtime in one installer.

There are also some older version for linux without qt runtime.

Please test and comment. Thanks.
