I noticed this feature almost as soon as J904 was installed, but have
only just got round to
trying to deal with it.
The puzzling feature is the apparent increase in the size of JQt session
windows, under Windows 11
in my case, compared with many previous versions. I've been using
this setting for the default size
and location of session windows in ~user/config/qtide.cfg for some
time now:
# J903
[Position]
Debug=-590 50 540 500
Edit=31 32 1806 853
Term=40 22 1784 858
(The gratuitous non-rounding probably means I'd managed to capture the
session windows' properties
once upon a time!)
For versions up to J903, this results in windows more or less filling
the screen, nominally 1920x1080,
allowing a smallish view of the "desktop" between J and the task-bar,
where jbreak.bat is usually
visible!
Now, in J904, the term and edit windows both stretch too far to the
right and too far down. I
was getting round the problem by changing size with the "mouse."
I've now experimented with the settings; the following achieves
windows with top left corners
very similar in position to those with J903, and bottom right corners
fairly near the J903 ones.
# J904 beta
[Position]
Debug=-590 50 540 500
Edit=31 32 1450 700
Term=40 22 1400 650
This version of Qt appears not to recognise the screen's physical
dimensions, perhaps.
Also, the font sizes in the Edit Window bars are larger than before.
That is, the edit file name,
eg "User/config/qtide.cfg - [User] - Edit"
as well as action tabs:
File Edit View etc ..............
and file tabs:
qtide.cfg | p788.ijs | maze.ijs | polydiv.ijs | etc.........
This isn't a problem for me, but might have diagnostic value.
