Me personally, I am interested only in (007) messages.  But mentioning other inefficiencies in system code might spur someone to belly up and fix them.

Thanks. No need to kill (004) for now;  I'm happy enough provided the messages don't get too intrusive. I imagine it's still useful for us all to let you know when a new message pops up.

Cheers,

Mike

Hm.  The messages with code hints are great when they point to your own code, but intrusive when they refer to system code you have no control over.

I was interested in reports of message (007).  I've heard none of those, but quite a few (004).  I suppose it is just as well to report those here so that the owners of the affected code hear about it - though I hope they have turned the warnings on too & will fix the problems themselves!

If (004) is becoming a nuisance you can disable it with

Have just done the update to beta-b. No probs.

However,  I thought I'd run Package Manager to ensure addons are up to date. Menu/Tools/Package Manager       results in one instance of this rather familiar warning:

(004) m}"n should be executed without " using leading axes of a: in m

Only one addon neeed updating,  viewmat,  I think.  After "install" there
was one other instance of the same warning message.

As far as I recall,   running

   load'pacman'
   'upgrade'jpkg'jengine'

earlier to upgrade to beta-b did not invoke the warning message, but
this might be a false recall!
