Eric,
As an aside to all this (or is it?) in my just previous message
I show text clipped from a J session and pasted into mail. It
was the result of following your suggestions -- starting a fresh
copy of jw, cutting/pasting from your script into a .ijs pane,
<cmd>w (forcing my fingers to forget that means to close a
window), then running f_run'' and see''
Following the output, I hit return several times to put some
vertical space after the result of see'' and then used verb
version'' to display the operating environment -- but as you can
see below (and I assume in my original post) someone/somewhere
changed my text and the run of version'' appears in an
impossible place (well, to grumble, it matches my experience
with IDE sessions in general - but I don't think this change
of output was a result of that discomfort of mine).
You suggest that fixed pitch font is required. My email client
is set up to only use fixed pitch - and no graphics. I do let
it interpret HTML (even though I eschew people sending messages
in HTML - many do, and they are virtually impossible to read
without interpretation).
In any case, I offer this message to say that what I posted
(or tried to post) looked somewhat different than what came
back to me -- and I am greatly curious if the output I
received from you originally was really "what good result
looks like" ...

Eric,
Don't know if I even understand what the bug is, but I notice
that the display in the graphics window is different than what
"see '' " displays - in that the last element is a rather larger
circle - about 4 times the diamater of the square next to it...
Also, not sure of the reason(s) - but my result looks differnt
(but better) than the "good result" you show. Maybe I need to
go back and study the early exchanges about this because I'm
confused what is a bug, good, bad, etc....
Here is a clip from my current G5 iMac jw -
load '/usr/local/lib/j601/temp/5.ijs'
f_run ''
see ''

To: Mac users with the glrect bug (display at Y-1) please report
the result from the following experiment:
run script
f_run''
see''
paste the see result in an email message
The good result looks like (must be displayed with fixed pitch font):
* ** *** *** *** ** ***
* * * * * * * * ** **
*** *** *** ** * *
The display contains: pixel; line; lines for rect, polygon for
rect; rect; round rect; circle top. The problem shows up in the top
line.
