J602bbeta supports multiple users without modifying the profile.ijs already.
The only thing I had to do to get it to work for multiple users (on my home machine) was to move the "jsoftware - j602" shortcuts folder in the Start Menu from my user to "All Users". Installing the shortcuts to "All Users" as a default is probably not a great idea because it would prevent users without admin rights from installing J (unless it was a selectable option). I don't think that your suggestion in itself solves the issue I raised of where the user's folder should be installed by default. > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Don Guinn > Sent: Sunday, 4 November 2007 12:39 > To: Beta forum > Subject: Re: [Jbeta] j602bbeta > > In J Wiki <http://www.jsoftware.com/jwiki/FrontPage> > System/Library/Requests<http://www.jsoftware.com/jwiki/System/ > Library/Requests?action=fullsearch&value=linkto%3A%22System%2F Library%2FRequests%22&context=180> > I > suggested a modification to profile.ijs that would allow it > to support multiple users, that is, move the location of user > and temp without requiring any modification to profile.ijs. > Simply put a copy of profile.ijs in the desired directory to > contain the alternate user's user and temp directories.
