Hi Dan, As you have noted, issues (1), (2) & (3) have previously been reported. In my case it turned out that both (1) and (2) were caused by forgetting to install the GTK binaries. My system then used the Gtk binaries installed by Glade (which doesn't have gtksourceview), hence the lack of syntax highlighting and the gtk_text_buffer_move_mark etc errors. I have confirmed that a clean Program files install on Win7 32 results in syntax highlighting after running getgtkbin '' install 'gtkide' And starting the Gtk IDE. I think that points toward something to do with Win64, or perhaps the moving about of folders post install. You could try a Standard install to rule out the second possibility. (BTW if you want to specify a folder to install to you can do a Custom install).
Issue (3) is as a result of the ~bin/profile.ijs missing an entry for snap and the resolution has been documented on the forum. I imagine the next installer will rectify this. http://www.jsoftware.com/pipermail/beta/2010-November/004945.html Issue (6) the JHS IDE scripts are installed to start with (check the contents of ~install/addons/ide/jhs in a fresh install), it is just that until you run 'update' jpkg '' for the first time they won't be catalogued - they will still work fine and should run when you click the icon installed in Start Menu. AFAICS the following will be the required steps for doing a System (Program files) install with the Gtk IDE once the installer is updated/finalised: * Run installer as Administrator * Choose System install. * Run jcon701 icon as Administrator getgtkbin '' install 'gtkide' load 'gtkide' It would be nice if a suitable shortcut/icon was generated at some stage during the install. > From: Dan Bron > Sent: Tuesday, 23 November 2010 06:35 > > Current issues with GTK IDE: > > 1.
