Fanfare! It worked!

This fixes issues (1: no syntax highlighting), (2: spurious GTK errors in
jconsole) and (4: need to scroll manually). To fix issue (3: complaints about
snap directory), do the Edit>Configure>Folders & manually snap ~temp/snap thing.

OK, to get J7 + GTK IDE working on Windows 64 bit (Windows 7, in my case), here
are the steps I think are necessary:

        A. Running as an Administrator throughout.

        B. On my Windows 7, 64-bit machine, removed all traces of
            previous J7s.

        C. Downloaded J701abeta for Win64 from jsoftware.com.
            http://jsoftware.com/download/j701abeta_win64.exe .

        D. Installed it as "System" under Program Files

                a. When I selected "System install", J incorrectly put
                    itself at C:\Program Files (x86)\j64-701 and didn't
give me the choice to change locations.

                b. I manually moved this to C:\Program Files\J701abeta
as "Program Files" is the appropriate root for
native 64-bit programs; "... (x86)" is for legacy
                    32-bit programs. "J701abeta" instead of "j64-701"
                    is just my preference.

                c. I updated all the icons J installed to point to this
                    new directory.

                d. After that, J didn't seem to mind this change, and
                    appropriately reported C:\Program Files\J701abeta
                    for jpath'~install'

        E. Started jconsole, and installed and updated the base library:

                   load'pacman'
                   'status' jpkg''
Local JAL information was last updated: 22 Nov 2010
                10:44:14
                No addons are installed.
There is a newer version of the base library.

                   'upgrade' jpkg 'base library'
                Installing 1 package
                Downloading base library...
                Installing base library...
                Done.
                No addons are installed.
The base library is up to date.

        F. Restarted jconsole, installed & upgraded all Addons (including GTK)

                   JVERSION
                Engine: j701/beta/2009-12-06/14:40
                Library: 7.01.008
                Platform: Win 64
                Installer: j701 beta
                InstallPath: c:/program files/j701abeta

                   getgtkbin ''
[...snip lots of downloading & inflating...]

                   install 'all'
                Updating server catalog...

        G. Shutdown jconsole, downloaded the working GTK binaries
            from http://www.jsoftware.com/download/lib64/gtk64.tgz
and untar it and untar under the folder jpath '~install/gtk'

        H. Shutdown jconsole, pinned an icon to my taskbar that runs
jconsole gtkide & ran that icon.

        I. Using the menu, navigated to Edit>Configure>Folders
            and appended the line:
                        snap ~temp/snap
            to folders.cfg. Saved.

        J. Restarted J GTK IDE.

CAVEAT: I have not tried this from scratch yet. I will try to do so when I
get some time. Meanwhile, can anyone else comment on the above, and in
particular can anyone else with a Windows 64 system test it out & confirm or
deny whether it works? And if not, make corrections as appropriate?

Please don't just send deltas, send the whole corrected list of instructions.
Similarly, if upgrades are made to JAL or the J7 installer to consolidate or
facilitate some of these steps, please update the instructions as appropriate &
repost the entire list.
