I downloaded Gramps and then editted gtk.ijs so that libdir=. '/Volumes/Gramps-PPC-3.2.5/Gramps.app/Contents/Resources/ lib/' and then ran jconsole without x11, but received the dreaded error message we have seen again and again. When I looked at fexist against libgtk and libgdk, they both returned 1's. Then I tried to actually launch Gramps with the idea of repeating the above steps after that launch, but could not launch Gramps because I immediately got the error message that Gramps cannot be run on this Mac OSX even though I was careful to download the one that was designated for PowerPC Mac. I could not find any info on which OSX is required, but mine is 10.4.11 and last one that works on my hardware.
So, it looks like I can use jgtk after I launch Gimp, not X11, and after I quit Gimp I can open only X11 and jgtk will work fine, unless I power down, in which case I have to remember to launch Gimp first. At least this will work for me and I am likely the last dinosaur around that will need a PowerPC Mac install of jgtk.
