I *think* the initial scan has finally finished; the last line in my scanner log file contains:
[10-09-03 23:59:54.1030] Slim::Music::Import::endImporter (607) Completed dbOptimize Scan in 0 seconds. But the disc is still seeking, and the Rescan button is still disabled. Settings > Information still doesn't show any information, and is providing an Abort button. I think it's probably the "Performance" setting to Automatically detect changes, which is enabled by default. It's likely that my iTunes library has changed (updated podcasts), so perhaps it's re-running the iTunes import again? It would be nice not to auto scan at startup. I suggest that automatic detection of changes should be disabled by default, until the library is stable (manually enabled by user or only turned on after an initial scan has been completed).
