you're like an ostrich with its head in the sand.

did you not read Jims post at the start of this thread? the one that i
was thrilled to see?

yes phil, YES i see it as a PROBLEM that you can't browse ONLY those
things. we have a DB, why should we not leverage it?

this whole argument of yours is just so baseless on its face; afterall
you use custom browse exactly b/c you want these abilities but can't
have them in the native app. why in gods name would you fight against
them doing it better? and please don't keep short selling the so
called "avg user." they would be happy to be able to do these things,
if they only could.

in winamp i frequently switch between the two. is it really so odd
that one would want to browse AA at some times, and all A at other
times?

i also frequently switch my many, many smartviews.

and i repeat, i should not have to fool with options or settings or
potentially trigger rescans to do any of this. PROBLEM.

and you got this view from what authority exactly?

its amazing how b/c you think it so, then it must be so.

it ain't so. say it isn't so phil!

if people want to sort by artists or AA, that decision is theirs, not
yours, and not SBS's. LET THE USER DECIDE!

i have TONS of multiple artist albums, some are comps an some aren't.
either way, i do, believe it or not, want to browse them when i feel
like it, and i want to do so EASILY and ON THE FLY.

we have a DB, lets leverage it.

see previous post.

all part of the problem. first of all you missed the point. the point
is that in its default config, SBS will present ALL your library at once
in AA form via those entry points. secondly, you simply unknowingly
illustrated another problem, in that you have to mess with
setting/options and rescans.

btw, once you click an artist name, i don't care if it shows you only
their albums they appear on, why would that bother me? but maybe i
want to see just song titles instead, or years, song titles, etc...
