The WinAmp interface is clearly optimized for usage on a computer
screen.

However, I strongly want to argue that I don't do the same things
towards SBS by using the Web interface, IR remote and the touch screen
on the Squeezebox Touch. Some things is very easy to do through the web
interface because it requires a large screen other things is a lot
easier to do via IR remote because it just needs a button click and I
don't have to get a computer from another room of the house. So due to
this, I feel that it's not necessary that all interfaces contains the
exact same functionality.

I personally feel that Logitech has taken the "consistency between
interfaces" paradigm a bit to far with the result that all interfaces
towards a Squeezebox is very consistent but also less useful/user
friendly compared what could have been the case.

One example is the "touch=ir right arrow=ir play button" on a track
discussion where I know you are on the same side as me and want
different behavior on IR remote compared to the touch screen, it makes
no sense to have two buttons on the IR remote that is mapped to the
exact same command.

The same paradigm could be used on the SBS web interface which could be
a lot more useful if it used the advantage of a large computer screen,
for example in similar fashion as WinAmp.

Still, there needs to be some consistency, you have to feel that you
are browsing the same music library, the same system and that the
browsing follows similar main principles independent which user
interface you are using.
