I get a lot of reports that if you use BMF to scan new music you can't actually use this new music without doing a proper rescan which kind of makes the whole thing moot.
That's news to me. I thought the biggest issue was clients would often time out waiting for the list (which should be much improved in 7.8).
Are you sure you're not seeing this using your own implementation of BMF?... (how does it work, btw?)
This is mainly 7.7.x, don't see too many reports with 7.8, yet so I don't know whether there's a change.
