There was a change applied on 28/05/2014: * Don't include artists from compilations in the album artists list.
This seems to have done what it says; artists that are only guests on albums with an album artist or a compilation album are no longer listed. However, the Album Artists for compilation albums are also no longer listed. However, I notice that album artists for compilation albums are not listed (typically "Various Artists", but the album artist could in fact be anything). There was also a worrying comment in the checkin: # treat contributors for albums with only one ARTIST but no ALBUMARTIST the same Which may be misleading, in that it should be checking that the set of ARTISTs are the same on every track (typically an album only has one artist on each track, but there can be more, eg. "Jimmy Page" and "Robert Plant" on every song. This might just be a slightly misleading comment though, as I haven't noticed a fault browsing. Other observations: 1) Clicking Home > Compilations, changes the breadcrumb trail to "Home > Artist (Various Artists)". This is inconsistent, and actually wrong - a compilation album could be by any album artist name, not just the default one that the scanner would apply if album artist tag is missing. 2) There is inconsistency in the breadcrumb trail when clicking on an artist name, depending which WebUI link is clicked. - Within Album Artists reports "Home > Album Artists > [artist name]" - Within All Artists reports "Home > All Artists > [artist name]" - Anywhere else, clicking on a track artists reports "Home > Artist ([artist name])" _______________________________________________ beta mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/beta
