Having recently started a new job (as of 1 November), I have precious little leave due to me. What little I do, I am saving for a trip to Australia next year. So, what I am getting around to (in my typical long-winded fashion) is that I'm sitting here at work between Christmas and New Year, and that without BGG to keep me awake!
To make things worse, the guy at my FLGS calls me to tell me that he has a copy of Kingsburg that just came in, along with a copy of Battlestar Galactica, For Troll and Country and the Warcraft miniatures game. Obviously a FFG shipment that just landed. They come in like that, as they order directly from FFG. Well, the chance to drop by the store on my way home from work to buy myself a present, especially when everyone else is on holiday, is awfully tempting. It is the season, after all. Now, I don't follow Battlestar Galactica, so (while it is apparently a good game) I don't think I'll get much out of that one. It seems you need to follow the show to get the most from it. Am I wrong here? Kingsburg, on the other hand, is on my wishlist. Only, I don't really know why. I only have 7 games on my wishlist at the moment, so I must have liked something about it at some point. Of course, with BGG down, I can't read up on it, browse the gallery, and so on. It is at times like this that I realise just what an incredible resource BGG is. I have read a few reviews elsewhere (oh, the shame) but they're just not working for me. I want to read reviews from people I recognise. Opinions I trust. Then have Mr Skeletor shoot them down, or Clearclaw mention that, in fact, he thinks it's quite the opposite. That sort of thing. So, should I grab that Kingsburg? It is good, isn't it? I had a feeling it might be. It certainly looks good (the artwork appeals to me). I expect it will be a good choice for family gaming, the sort of game that people pick up quickly? Thanks for your time. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "BGG Down" group.
