Yes, obviously. That's why I suggested a delay. They delay could even
be configurable based on how long the site had been down, and the
pages could have fallback.

Really? I'd be thrilled to know how their database reorg will help

There's a middle ground and I outlined how it could provide useful
functionality without being susceptible to impatient people reloading
or clicking on links. Given how often people are reloading the page /
now/ I'd suspect any auto-status updated that was trusted by the bulk
of users would very likely provide a net win.
