I don't know if they are still available, but Bike Fed, along with the
Wisconsin DOT, used to put out nifty little laminated cards with all
the relevant bicycle laws, including statute numbers. I have carried
one in my wallet for years, and have another tucked into my bike
emergency kit. I've also given them out to others who seemed
interested.

It is best to not argue with a cop. Some (not all, so please, no angry
emails!) feel they have to assert their authority, and will find a way
to do so, even if they are on shaky legal ground. Having the card with
you can make the conversation a bit easier, if you do it the right
way, but it might make it worse.

I have actually offered to provide multiple copies to police
departments that are "having problems with bicyclists." That allows
them to think I am helping them control bicyclists, but really it's
showing them the laws so bicyclists don't get harassed.

Call Bike Fed to see if the cards are still available. I know the DOT
was interested in reprinting them, so maybe the supply has been
renewed.
