HRD manager saya di tmp yg lama pernah sharing. Biasanya ada 2 makhluk, probation & contract...saya kurang paham bagaimana detailnya. Tapi beliau mengatakan probation sangat merugikan jika dilihat dari sisi karyawan. Pada probation, jika sudah di akhir masa percobaan maka perush bisa langsung memutus secara sepihak. Jika contract, perush dihadapkan pada 3 pilihan... antara memperpanjang (max. 2x), diputuskan dan langsung mengangkat menjadi permanen. CMIIW (maklum,bukan HR )

Kenapa biasanya 3 bulan? Mungkin info dari teman saya, seorang HRD bisa memberikan gambaran. Bulan 1, karyawan baru diharapkan dapat beradaptasi dengan lingkungan perusahaan dan pekerjaan. Bulan 2, karyawan bisa beradaptasi dengan rekan-rekan kerja dalam satu tim atau tim yang lain. Bulan 3, merupakan bulan pembuktian, apakah bisa dipertahankan atau tidak. Probation diperlukan agar 'lapisan-lapisan' yang berkilau ketika psikotest, wawancara akan terkelupas, sehingga kelihatan kemampuan serta 'isi' asli dari ybs. Ada beberapa perusahaan yang memberlakukan probation selama 6 bulan, apalagi untuk jabatan manager ke atas.
